What is NetExpense ?

NetExpence is a internet/computer usage time tracking software. In addition to giving total time spend on internet and computer, it also tracks the phone costs incurred for internet usage. There is also an option to alert you when you are connected to internet after a given alert time.

How to use NetExpense ?

After NetExpense is installed, NetExpense starts automatically when computer starts and is located in the system tray showing the internet idle icon.
When Internet is connected, internet active icon is displayed.
For getting a quick information of internet usage of current month and current day, click the left mouse button on this icon . A small window will popup displaying the total telephone calls and the amount incurred for internet access today and for the current month. For getting a detailed report about internet and computer usage click on this popup window. Place the mouse pointer over this icon for 1 sec to get a quick summary of today's internet telephone calls.

Click the right mouse button over NetExpense icon to set the Settings of NetExpense or show detailed report.

What are the settings available in NetExpense ?

Settings available in NetExpense :-
Internet Settings :-
        Charge for one pulse :- Pulse is one telephone call unit  and this is the cost for one pulse.
        Pulse duration :- This is  the no of seconds for which a pulse will be recorded. On weekdays there may be differences in the pulse duration during peek hours and non-peek hours. So pulse duration can be entered giving a time range. Pulse duration for Sundays can be entered separately or can be set as same as weekdays.
        Internet  Usage Alert :- An alert will be displayed in intervals of the given alert time (in minutes). If alert time is given as zero no alert is shown.

Security Settings :-
        These settings are available only for registered users of NetExpense
        Disallow user from closing NetExpense:- If this settings is checked then NetExpense cannot be closed unless this option is unchecked.
        Enable password protection for settings:- If this is checked then the setting can be changed only upon entering password. Initial password is blank and you have to set the new password upon checking this option.

How can I add a user in NetExpense ?

User is added to NetExpense automatically when a new windows user starts the computer. A new windows user can be added from the control panel.

How can I change the currency format in NetExpense ?

Change the currency format in Regional settings in Control Panel to set the currency format in NetExpense.
